Asleep at the Wheel
04:17
|
|||
I was asleep at the wheel, stumbled into something real. And I dreamt what I knew, it was never going to last with you
I fell quietly so silently never can I not catch my breath. It was fine with me when you dined with me and you wouldn't let me get the check
I couldn't eat at the meal I had some sort of stomach deal
couldn't talk in the pauses the silence was critically lauded
It's not like I sent you home that night without reason why but I went out and I still got high
It was fine with me it was fine with you, I just couldn't see it through
I saw you out at the bar, standing with another girl, drink in my hand and you knew that I wasn't out for you
It's not like you said that we’re exclusive but still I used you for that I'm useless
excuse me for rumoring changing my tune again we are just two friends collectively humoring

So I have given toast
To a heaven ghost
will that spare my bones?
from the fire that roams
I'm trying to improve on the basis for which I choose
‘Cause it just don't sit right
in my head it feels fine
so my choice it is mine
not my neighbor's foresight
Can we disagree
so we learn something?
from the chaos comes
proletarian guns

Act Like You Mean It
05:31
|
|||
Fake your smile and act like you mean it
I'm too tired is a selfish reason
Say you're sorry for the silent treatment
Wave goodbye and act like you mean it
Abandon what you have
Your friends have forgotten
All the good times that you had
We want it back
Take me back, I didn't mean when I said:
“I don't love you like I did when we met”
What's so bad about leaving feelings?
You could push back and act like you mean it
Fake your smile and act like you mean it
Don't look back and act like you mean it

In a Foreign Country
04:12
|
|||
Thought I spied on my sober Sunday
Someone I knew in a foreign country
We used to hold hands and run errands and run our fingers through waist bands
We used to get lost through city blocks and lose ourselves together
Stop myself before I speak up
It's useless now, wouldn't believe my candor
What is the chance, or circumstance to bring us back together
We never broke up, I just sucked at telling you I was in love

Life Flipping Pages
02:49
|

What gave him the right to say
She wiped the tears from off his face
On all those nihilistic days
An apprehension to conversate
When did talking become a chore
Life flipping pages, you could've tore
Or write a novel, to work towards
Don't want to look back and ask for more
Walking home she caught a glance
While writing letters to new romance
Looking through all nostalgic lense
She could remember the happiness
Find a box on her birthday
A lovely candle and lettering
In all her favorite shades of red
The only thoughtful thing he did

American Sigh West Palm Beach, Florida
While the name might conjure a resignation of fate after a protracted battle against societal norms, American Sigh is Theo Matz’s humble West Palm Beach entry into a canon of forgotten pop craftsmanship. Modern in approach and leveled so instruments and vocals shine, there is an underlying nostalgia to its saccharine epidermis. – Abel Folgar, PureHoney ... more
